recital update!

Ok, I expect EVERYONE to be at my recital on Monday night. Especially now that I have both an accompanist and an extremely sweet flier.

The flier might actually be the best part. So, I was toying with various ideas today and I really wanted to made a Stingray themed one for some reason. You know, that old show with the puppets about the dudes in the submarine and the chick who could breathe underwater? Yeah. Really, I just wanted to use the "STAND BY FOR ACTION!!" slogan. I was having a hard time finding images, so I changed my mind and decided to do a pulp novel cover type of flier.

I found a really amazing image, and tweaked it for my own purposes. I would like to point out that all my tweaking is done in MS Paint. I'm using the computer at work, so I don't have Photoshop or any kind of program that is actually useful as far as photo editing. So, MS Paint. I am the MS Paint master. I would also like to point out that this was kind of difficult. Especially making the new letters out of the old letters. They're not as clean as they could be, but I'm pretty proud of myself. Also, when I printed it up, it's all a little more sepia-toned, so it looks old and faded. It's cool!

Here are the original version and my version:

Edit: At Shane's suggestion, I made the lady more like me. That is, I gave her some tattoos and piercings.

how great i am, bassoon
