I've been nattering away over on
justalurkr about my adventures dealing with Atlanta's
Snowmageddon 2014, or whatever they're calling it, and not keeping you all who might not have befriended both in the dark.
tl;dr version:
Tuesday: Seven and a half hours to travel 14 miles from Midtown to Marietta, culminating in a hike up BlackJack Mountain because the roads were too icy to make the trip, even for the favored Ford four wheelers so popular in these parts.
Wednesday: Sustained a sliver (right index finger) and a badly bruised knee (left) fetching my car back up the hill. A man in a Cadillac SUV did not ram my little rice rocket. I thanked him, and he quite sincerely responded with "
You're welcome."
Today: Determined that working from home is the most awesome thing ever, as
grocery shopping can happen on lunch break. I thanked the cashier and bag boy for showing up to work and their smiles got genuine for a minute.
Hope anyone else on the flist affected by this weather is doing at least as well as I, minus the sliver and bruised knee, of course.
