[Just a quick note, for the next two weeks, I'll be using a PB for Erim since she's going to be appearing vastly different. More notes on what characters will see at the bottom of this.]

[Near the fountain there is a small child dressed in the same dress a new feather would wear. She seems very intent on the fountain, finding it rather ( Read more... )

[Adell's out on a patrol after training today. Nothing ever happens on these patrols, but Vyse did it, so he might as well follow his captain's example. Everything's quiet as usual, though when he heads into the square, he catches the odd sight of what appears to be a New Feather? In the later portion of the month? After none have shown up for awhile.

Wow. That is weird. But either way, he's going to approach her. If she's new here, she might need some help.]

Hey there. Don't remember seeing you around before.

[And it's about then he notices her minor injuries.]

...What happened?

[She looks surpirsed to hear a voice nearby and looks at him, a bit shy, but smiling to some degree.]

I don't know, I woke up this way.

[...Maybe that's not so strange. After all, she did arrive at a strange time.]

You must be new here. My name's Adell. Nice to meet you. I'm sure you're probably confused... Can I help you in any way?

Adell? That's a nice name. I'm....[She thinks for a moment, then looks kind of sad.] I don't know what my name is.

...Don't know? Huh. Well... until you do remember, should I call you something? I can give you a name until you remember, if you'd like.

[She nods.] I'd like that! I bet you'll pick something nice.

Well... how about "Fio?"

[She thinks about it for a moment, and then smiles.] I like that! It's a very pretty name.

I'm glad. Well Fio, welcome to Luceti. This place is probably quite a change from where you're used to being, but I'll help show you around, if you'd like.

How can it be a change if I don't know where I've been before? [And in the usual way of a child, subject is quickly changed, she's going to take Adell's hand.] I'd like that a lot.

[...Doesn't know where she was before? Did she have full on memory loss? That's not good. But when she suddenly changes the subject and takes his hand, that'll make him push the thought aside for now.]

Well, this is the square. This is where most of Luceti's shops and stuff are. [He motions to each and begins naming them off.] There's the item store, and the general store, and the clothing store...

[Ooh, stores can be fun, but don't stores also need money?] General store? Do they sell generals then? And what sort of items does an item store sell? And how do I get money to buy stuff? Do you have lots of money?

[Yep, typical kid, tons of questions, real fast, not even giving poor Adell a chance to answer before another comes.]

[Having two younger siblings gave Adell plenty of experience dealing with this sort of thing, though. So he'll smile and proceed to answer what he can.]

The general store has mostly food and groceries, and the item shop sells a bunch of other stuff. ...And actually, Luceti doesn't have any money, so anything in the stores is free. You just take what you need.

[She goes all wide eyed at the idea of just taking what you need and things being free. True, she might not have any memories, but she knows things like stuff costs money and not buying stuff means one is a thief and being a thief is bad.]

But doesn't that make people here thieves?

Reply

vulcanblazer July 24 2010, 05:15:01 UTC
Well, not if you only take stuff from the stores. You still don't want to take stuff from other people, that's definitely stealing. But if it's in the store, you can take it if you'd like.

Of course, you shouldn't take stuff you aren't gonna use either. That's a waste.

Are there fun things to play with there? And yummy food to eat? [And as if on cue for talking about food, her stomach makes a loud growling sound. Poor girl hasn't eaten in some time because of the Malnosso being all cruel and that.]
