Today was my sister's (
gaiana) birthday! We had some fun bowling, until I had to get mad at the manager and actually flash him my bar card - as in "yes, asshole, I'm an attorney and I'm pissed off." lol Kelbell thought it was funny...I think she likes it when I can make people almost pee in their pants (that's according to her hubby) -- I don't know if he did or not... I stormed out of that place. GRRR
Anyhoo -- drabble time:

Title: More Than An Apprentice
Author: Oracleholly
Rating: PG-13
Character: Holtz
Summary: Set during “Dad,” Holtz meets his apprentice.
Word Count: 162
“I’ll tell you what I want. I want you to stay the hell away from me.”
Holtz watches Justine walk away, still keeping to the shadows. Her emotions are so raw - a festering, gaping wound. In her, Holtz remembers those early days - how it felt to have everything you’ve ever loved ripped away from you. He bites his tongue hard, letting the blood pool slightly in his mouth before he spits it out. His blood would taste like hers, he imagines - bitter and acrid with the need for vengeance. It had been so long since it had all began - his hunt to bring the monsters to justice so uncompromising - seeing Justine had seemed as if God had granted his mission new vitality. Her name…Justine…so appropriate - with her at his right hand they will exact justice and bestow no mercy. She will be more than a mere apprentice. He will mold her into his image and she will be like a daughter.

I struggle to maintain the hate in my soul. Ironic, in this hell, that it should prove difficult during weaker moments. Most days it is easier than others. Yet, there are some days I find myself watching the boy play, and I forget my purpose. Stephen is my son.
Then I remember how easily Stephen took to the hunt and the kill. During those times he reveals his true face. He is not my son. He is the son of the two monsters who stole my true family. Steven has his mother’s eyes, and I endeavor to erase all signs of disgust on my face when he smiles at me.
