Walking the Walk

Well, with the impetus from the lovely lauand  and nuraya , I am going to take their lead and my own advice which I all too often ignore out of hand.  I give you random sketches from this past summer, when I decided to pick up a pencil again and try and force myself back into drawing. It didn't stick long unfortunately. Getting back up on that horse is harder ( Read more... )

Wow I adore those skulls! Haha, Ecopirate. *lol* Awesome. The wing in the first picture is quite amazing. It might be a small detail but I'm a fan of wings, particularly the kind where you can actually see where the wing attaches to the body. And in this it is quite lovely. Call me weird for getting so fixed on that detail. :D

You should draw more!! And I wouldn't mind seeing some fandom works from you.... ^_________^

BradSchu mermaid princes??? heehee

I guess it's like riding abike... I drew alot of skulls when I was in high school.

Skulls and little demon girls... not sure why but those two always end up on a page. I like all those little parts other people tend to shy away from too... although I definitely got the anatomy wrong in that one.

I should! And I'm too chicken to do fandom... too critical of myself I think. Even though I logically know that Kapitel has some of the absolute worst artwork I have ever seen...

Mmmmmm... mermaid princes.... OH, I need to show you some of the artwork I found while resreaching that particular subject...

Anatomy wrong or not, it shows such splendid root for the wing attachment!!! You have no idea how much I adore that. I love drawing shit like that myself.

I actually understand really well the fear of drawing fandom for self criticism. It feels like you're competing against something even though really -- there's no reason to feel like that. I got over that at one point when I sat down and had a little conversation with myself and convinced myself that the way I draw the fandom is my way of drawing the fandom, and the limits are the limits of my talents, and those talents are always developing. Fear of failing in the present is no reason not to keep on going for the future ( ... )

The fear of fandom is all about living up to your own incredibly high expectations. That's the problem with drawig my personal fandom - I can't make it look right for my own expectations. Any other fandom - pfffttt - I'll doodle whatever. I have no personal stake on other fandoms.

I've attempted Weiss-y stuff several times. It makes me shudder.

I've never worked a collab before. How would that even work with art? I'm not digitally inclined beyond scanning. Curious though! And it's not a low bar - I should smack you! None of that!

I'll email the file of art... :)

<3 Oh those are lovely hon! Such a shame you didn't manage to get through because you do have a talent and it might be a great outlet with all the stuff going on with you. *hugs loads and loads*

<3 Thank you sweetie! The urge to slap paint around on a huge canvas has been rather strong lately. I may need to break down and let it happen. *hugs*

Danke! The ecopirate was actually a logo idea that never went anywhere. Hopefully, putting it out there will help keep some forward momentum.

Yay! Sketches!

Recyclable pirates FTW! XD!!

I see you've got quite the grasp on the femenine body. I'm surprised, most of us draw mainly male figures. I especially like the third drawing from the top (the left one), I always find it difficult to move the bodies, and that's a graceful pose. Very nice skulls, too!

More?

I wish there was more. A future goal perhaps...

Sacriliege, I know. I draw women. Something else to add to my list.

danke!
