I assumed that no one - not even the prompter would care for this. Thankfully, I was wrong. I think, with this little bit of dark fic I came to total terms with my unpalatability to most of fandom. What exactly about my writing puts people off - I'm not exactly sure. I'd like to think it isn't style - maybe more the subject matter. The tone. The atmosphere. Hopefully it's not my writing ability and/or lack thereof. I know I'm much more fond of the unpleasant than the general population.

Another glorious miss for the 'fandom'. I seriously considered not posting anything after this. I write for fun and - save for the very few people who know who they are - I really have no reason to be posting. Didn't manage to follow through with that though because of those few people! So thankful for them! Creativity dies in a vacuum... without their interaction life would suck. I spent a very long time in that creative vacuum and I have no intention of going back there...

Originally a comment fic found here - it grew into a beast all it's own. In an ill conceived effort to make the posting deadline on another comm, I rushed this project through. And in my subsequent kick to the curb sort of sucked the wind out of my sails on the whole project. But I still love the idea. Planning on returning in the New Year. Might even figure out how to pimp it properly.

If Bonds of Blood Prevail - [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] - Brad Crawford - ancient vampire and clan sire of some extremely pretty vampire boys... NSFW
This was actually an exchange piece started two full years ago on the vampire stripper premise. Started and sat. And sat. Until I reshared it with a few of those 'very few people' who encouraged the hell out of it. Again, it may be too dark, too violent, too bloody ...just too ME... for most people but at least a couple people will enjoy the hell out of it! I REALLY enjoyed going there. I think maybe I may have been subconsciously 'pulling my punches' in response to fandom's lack of response to anything I have to offer. Maybe I was just softening my edges in an effort to be included in the conversation. It clearly never worked. In fact, when people start re-prompting the premise of one of your stories... but asking for it to be written DIFFERENTLY, that's a pretty good sign that you have no place at the table, more or less in the conversation. I think I finally came full circle with this newest chapter. Assassins will be assassins. Vampires will be vampires. Gloves are off! I'll set my own damn table, thank you!
