Replicating Servers

Stargate: Code of the Replicators I’ve always wondered, how might such an incredibly advanced system, with such incredibly complex adaptive logic, incredibly sophisticated networking, and nearly unlimited storage be built? Would the software that powers such a thing be like C++ hopped up on some funky alien steroids?
Replicators have apparently consumed and assimilated a web server that hosts the Royal Bank of Canada and have implemented their JavaScript into their base code. The ability to check bank statements online is essential to their survival. I wonder if closing your account would have provided a swift effective victory. But really -- JavaScript? They couldn't have gone with Lisp or Python? JavaScript can be tetchy at times. Especially when trying to run it under IE. Maybe they should have just uploaded a Microsoft program to the Replicators. They would have surely crashed vis-a-vis the Blue Screen of Death.
