Music of the Day

During the 1970's few artists made as relevant or passionate music as Stevie Wonder. He ruled the charts with albums such as Talking Book , Innervisions, and Songs in the Key of Life. Any artist would be remembered for just one work as powerful as any of these, but he released all three. The last was even a double album. His influence can be heard all over today's R&B and Hip Hop, as well as much rock music. I chose "Living for the City" off Innervisions to share today. It is sad that the social urgency of this song has really not decreased in the past 30 years. I still feel challenged by the lyrical message of this song, as uplifting as the music itself is. And that is the genius of Stevie Wonder.
