So, the last few weeks have been good. I've been getting gradually better to the point that most of the time I'm experiencing no pain at all from the surgery. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Yeah, it can be extremely hard to get back into the habit of being creative if you haven't been for a long time, I know all too well. I think the trick is to make it part of your routine. Put aside some time and do something, anything, on a regular basis.
I've also found it very helpful to have other people involved. If you're just doing stuff for yourself you've no-one to disappoint, but if there's someoen else expecting you to come up with the goods, I find it's easier to get motivated.

I find it's always useful to have a deadline, even if it's just self-imposed, because I'm really bad for procrastinating and a deadline helps me focus. It can also energise me and make me do better work.

I finally set a deadline for the art to be done, as I'm going to a convention in September, and I'd like to be able to get some feedback from professionals there.
