the more i think about it the best idea seems to be for me to take the $1,700 dollars and fix a couple of mechanical problems with the car, pocket the rest and end up with a fairly reliable car that has a banged up corner.

as long as you don't have a problem with driving that and it's not impeding your headlights or anything to warrant getting pulled over, I'd go for that

That might work.. I haven't seen the damage on the car.

But if it's just cosmetic (didn't even pierce the radiator?) Then that is a good idea..

What mechanical issues do you have?
