so i got a new computer at work the other day, this is good because it has a cd-rom drive, that is good because i can burn 10 hour mp3 discs to listen to at work.

so i have these cheap ass computer speakers lying around that i decide to bring in to work because i figure at the low volume i will be listening to them at, the sound quality really won't be that bad.

so i hook them up and the sound quality is horrible, even after an hour of trying to tweak eq settings they still sound like crap. somewhere in my tweaking i started playing with the balance control on the computer and i realized that it wasn't working, this puzzled me.

so i open up the one of the speakers that has the amp in it and come to realize that even though there are two speakers and a stereo input cable, both the left and right channels are soldered directly together and that these speakers are just unlistenable monophonic crap.

so i decide i will never listen to anything on these wretched, deceitful speakers and that they would serve no better perpose than to be tinkered with.

so i built a little oscillator with a pitch knob onto the back of the amp board, i am now the proud owner of a gimp-ass electronic slide whistle.

start with crap, end with crap, at least it kills time.
