Just a brief one with Ratchet this time...
Ratchet: evening Optimus
Prime: morning Ratchet =3
Prime: how are you?
Ratchet: not /too/ bad, yourself?
Prime: I'm not bad at all
Prime: not /too/ bad?
Ratchet: heh, there's always /something/ not quite right.
Prime: apart from all the extra work in the medbay?
Ratchet: a variety of reasons to be honest, but do you mind if I ask you a quick question?
Prime: no, go ahead
Ratchet: What is your current standpoint on relations among the ranks? I know how it went when this war began... I don't want to drop anyone in it, but I've been noticing it recently.
Prime: A lot has changed since the war began... particularly given the new information on sparklings, perhaps it's all for the better. But I can't allow it to interfere with our operations - this is still a war.
Prime: Of course, given myself and Elita... I won't be a hypocrite.
Ratchet: A lot has changed indeed... but your bond with Elita was already in force before the war began, wasn't it?
Ratchet: *snorts humerously* Sparklings? You wish to set up some kind of Autobot breeding programme? *chuckles*
Prime: Not quite... unless you're volunteering? *laughs* Yes, we were bonded before the war, but the point still stands. If I allow it to myself, I must at least consider that it be allowed to everyone else.
Ratchet: Oh come now Prime I don't have time for a sparkbond *waves it off with an uncomfortable smile* Fair to a fault you are. You don't share Prowl's concerns about lapses of judgement and conflicting loyalties?
Prime: I would be a fool if it didn't concern me somewhat, but I do have faith in the Autobots. If it became a problem, of course, I'd have to do something about it - but I hope that it wouldn't.
Ratchet: Hmm. *optics narrow thoughfully* That is a satisfactory answer to my question. I suppose the couples that I've noticed aren't making an issue of their personal life...
