It's really bizarre...I remember talking about remembering something, but now I don't remember the something at all. So it's like having a memory of a memory...but not a real memory itself. Weird.

I think I I kinda feel like I've been hanging around the hotel a lot lately. So if anyone out there needs my help for anything, let me know! I'll come ( Read more... )

You helped us out at the cathedral a couple times, didn't you? With James?

I feel like we sort of owe you a favor. So if there's anything I can do, let me know.

Yeah. And James helped us out too, around Christmas! I guess he somehow got home okay, like Donald...but it's a lot quieter without him around.

Um...I dunno, I don't think you guys hafta do anything for me! Just hanging out is fun.

James didn't...

Yeah.

Things haven't really been the same around here without those two.

Well, I don't think the two of us really ever had the chance to meet. I saw you at the Christmas party but got caught up in other things. Plus I was feeling a little ill at the time, but I'm better now.

...They'll be okay. They won't forget their friends.

Really? Yeah, it was pretty crazy there! I'm glad you're feeling better now, it stinks being sick.

A friend once said something along the lines of... it's better having known each other than never having known at all. Something like that. I tend to agree, anyway.

Must've pushed myself a little too hard. I was taking care of everyone at the time. James got bitten and ran off, Harry wasn't doing too well, and around the time I had found Garnet on the streets. At least there's Maria and Heather and Lilia...

...you know, it feels kind of strange being the only guy in the cathedral right now. Maybe I should put up an ad in that digest to see if anyone needs a place to stay.

I think so, too. Real friends, you never really lose them, even if you don't see them for awhile.

Don't work yourself too hard! Sometimes I kinda do that

You should! I'm sure there's still new guys looking for a place to stay.

Sometimes people just get tired.

There's not much I can do about that now. Those who'd usually help out are gone, otherwise I'd agree. With any luck the weather won't be as bad, since winter's coming to an end.

Probably. It'd look strange for a guy to live alone with two teenage girls and a... well, with Maria. Wouldn't it?

Get tired?

I think there'll always be people here that can help! Yeah, it feels like it's getting warmer, which is nice! I'm not used to these kinda winters.

I dunno, I think there's plenty of stranger things in this world!

...never mind. It's not important.

Being from the desert, all this cold weather isn't much my thing, either. Used to it by now, sure... I can adapt, since I haven't been home in a few years. But you can never really take the desert out of the boy. Think I still might have dust in my ears.

That's different. What I mean is, people might think it's weird for a guy to be staying with some teenage girls alone. Don't want people to start spreading assumptions about "That Odd Guy" or whatever.

Okay...

Haha, yeah, you always kinda take a piece of your home with you! When I go by the coast it still reminds me of the islands a little.

Why would that be so weird? Everyone's gotta stay with someone around here.

I haven't found much around here that reminds me of home. It's very different where I'm from. Small town, open spaces, not a whole lot of people, save for the occasional tourists. Although I did live in an abbey for seven months in the mountains, which had weather like this.

It's... I guess it's one of those adult things. Last thing I need on my list of concerns are people worried that I'm robbing the cradle or something like that.

Huh, that makes me think of Agrabah a little. That was a lotta wide open desert.

...Okay, now I really don't get what you're talking about. It's not like there's any babies there. Are there?

Agrabah? Like from the...?

Oh. Right.

Pico Mundo is more like a wasteland, really. Not so much a whole lot of sand, just mostly dry land.

Okay, good. As for babies...

Wait. Babies.

Babies?

No, there are no babies. No babies anywhere.

Now that I think about it, I haven't even seen any babies in this city. Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing, really... This is a horrible place to be raising kids. Still, it's strange.

(From the what?)

That sounds like a tough place to live.

Yeah, I haven't either. That is probably a good thing, with how dangerous it is.

There was a... There's a story centered around a place called Agrabah. Aladdin, if I'm not mistaken.

Not really. It's a small, simple, peaceful little town. If I could, I'd still be there. But I haven't been back for four years.

Much as I have to agree, it is rather strange to me. Just like how the animals all seemed to have disappeared as well.

Well. The normal animals, that is. The ones that aren't supposed to talk.

Oh, you know Aladdin?!

How come you haven't been back?

Yeah, the animals thing is pretty weird. Even stuff like bugs and mice should be around...or birds from across the river.
