Less is More

This week/weekend, we're enjoying a visit from bigspot, who is in town for all things SXSW - first the interactive conference, then the music one. Last night, we ventured out to Guero's along with Cathy, Gautim, Deana and Tyler for some diet-busting goodness. Reminder to self: eating too many tortilla chips does not make me feel good, even though it's tasty at the time.

Speaking of diet-busting, it is official: I am down 10 lbs. I feel SO much better, both physically and mentally. It feels good to have taken control of that aspect of my life and been successful at making some good progress. I'm looking forward to being a little less strict with the diet part of my routine now, although as always, my challenge is all about not letting the door fly wide open when I allow it to crack just a little. Moderation has never been my strong suit when it comes to eating; the foodie in me has a rather addictive personality.

At any rate, the world gave me a nice reward for diet success today; on my way back from dropping bigspot off at the convention center this morning, I happened upon a garage sale brimming with clothing goodness. My pants wardrobe, which had been verging on getting tight, is now dangerously loose; I found four pairs of great pants at this sale, including two pairs of my all-time favorite capri pants in a size smaller than I already had. Plus: Ann Taylor cashmere sweater, Vivienne Tam top, and a myriad of other great pieces that fit just right, all for $20. Yay.
