Bridesmaids dresses should be outlawed. Two of my girls measurements indicated (according to the vendor) that they should order "plus sized" dresses (which cost $40 extra). Then, when the dresses arrived, it was clear that all that extra fabric needed to be removed and that, in fact, both dresses needed to be completely remade (costing an upwards of $200 each). I am trying to get all of this worked out (financially with the company) asap. So, that's the funness I've been dealing with. Yeah for me.
I'm having a ton a fun with some crafty things for the wedding. That's the upside. I ripped all the beads off of my wedding dress (because I hated them) and this week I will add some lovely ribbon to the dress. I finished knitting my white wedding shrug. I just need to sew it up, add some crocheted edging, and block it! Next I'm going to be stamping designs on napkins and other wedding paraphernalia - trying to make some stuff look more spacial. I've been collecting old wedding photos from my family members - some of them are so amazing! I'm going to get some frames and have them around the recption site. Tomorrow, I'm meeting with a friend who is going to put together the reception site for me (because she's awesome like that).
I went to Art Fibers on Sunday and met Debbie Stoller (author of the Stitch N Bitch books and editor of Bust Magazine). She signed my SNB book and her new Happy Hooker book (a guide to crochet). She was as awesome, gracious, and good humored as I imagined she would be!
fyerfaery, I wish you could have been there!
