(no subject)

Er. I may not have proof-read my review letter. I appear to have referred to life at WP as 'Pretty shiny.' And that was the whole sentence. I'm pretty sure I meant to change that before I sent it off. Oh well.

Slight change of subject:

Here are some festive songs I'm currently very very fond of:
John Stewart and Stephen Colbert - Can I Interest You In Hanukkah? (ahahaha it has video, that's awesome)

Scrooge from the Muppet Christmas Carol (here is your concentrated dose of WIN for the afternoon)

OBVIOUSLY, the Nutcracker.
Scene in a Pine Forest (my favourite piece of music in the whole thing, it is so much prettier than the dancing the name suggests) and Waltz of the Snowflakes

The Three Kings (it's a relatively rare one, no good for casual choir singing, and I don't have a recording. But it is one of my favourites.)

Rilo Kiley - Christmas Cake (OK this one is pretty depressing - I mean the chorus goes 'cry into your Christmas Cake, don't know what else to do...' but it's also really great)

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (the original with the awesome bittersweet lyrics. This youtube link is the scene from the actual film, so it also comes with bonus crying, snowman-decapitating child. And the description has some even more depressing original lyrics. Jolly...)

The Shepherd's Farewell

Oh god quick think of something cheery to finish with. Oh look, The Mitch Benn (of Now Show/Proud of the BBC fame) Christmas Podcast.

That is really enough of that.
