D'awwwww. Just watched the Doctor Who prom. And it's fabulous and lovely, of course. I almost can't get over how awesome the music is. I need to get all the soundtracks at some point (the Specials one is coming out really soon as per this rather sweet fandom secret).
Love the Doctor's little bit with the explodeywodey thing. Also thanks BBC for filling my computer with Weeping Angels AGAIN.
Ooh ooh and things I didn't know, the soloist on Vale Decem (the big regeneration bit) is a counter tenor. OMG he's awesome.
Obviously, a slight bittersweetness, particularly right at the beginning. My heart ached slightly when Karen Gillan did a whole intro to the National Orchestra of Wales, calling them the house band and making a whole fuss about how they're the genuine orchestra who genuinely play the music on the show. Just - a bit of a missed opportunity, or what? And the choir barely got a mention at all which, even though they are some unimportant imposters, and not genuine or proper at all not like wot we are, strikes me as a little unfair. Of course, the sound they made was really, really fantastic, which is only making me more UBER JEALOUS and A BIT PARANOID.
Of course, in the grand scheme of things, we totally got the better deal. So like, I'm not bitter - just y'know, a little jealous. :P
(You know what else I love? The number of kids in the audience wearing fezes. Ahahahahaha. Because fezes are cool!)
