Making a vague attempt at packing. Three boxes of books isn't so bad, is it?
There are a lot of things I can get rid of or leave here - there are also lots of things that I couldn't possibly leave behind. Obvious things like The Thirteen Clocks - if it was small and durable enough I think I'd carry that on my person at all times - and rather less obvious things like my copy of Murder in the Cathedral, which I have never read all the way through and certainly don't claim to have understood.
I also can't quite bear to abandon my Anne Rices - at least, Pandora and Merrick are going straight to Oxfam, I never actually read Merrick and remember Pandora as being incredibly dull. But the rest, well they're in the box for the moment.
There are also things I want to take and can't, like, distressingly, all of the Terry Pratchetts, the Hellblazers and Sandman, and the PG Wodehouse. On the other hand, I am liberating the Stainless Steel Rat...
