Apprehended...the Colonial back lot thief!!!

We were on our way out to the store tonight and James noticed his brother Evan's car had the drivers side door wide open and spotted a shadow moving around inside. He sent me inside out of harm's way and used my cell to call the Memphis Police Department. He stayed out of sight of the thief, keeping a vigilant eye on him as he gave directions and descriptions to the police dispatcher. They sent a couple of cruisers over right away and soon had the dude on the ground and cuffed. The jackass tried to say it was his car until he was faced with James, after which he gave up trying to talk his way out of trouble. There ended up 5 or 6 cop cars out there, it was quite a gathering!! The guy had 3 warrants out on him and they found a bunch of money on him, including some change that had been left in the cup-holder. The cops were pretty cool, one of them I used to work with. A few of them spotted James some Grizzly ( a bunch of them chewed tobacco) and one of them was very much saying James could have beat the guy up and had no problems because it would have been considered self defense!! Anyways, we had to go down to 201 Poplar for James to make his statement, and had a police escort. We got to run 2 red lights with full permission! All in all, it was an exciting evening. The criminal will be in jail for at least 6 months, so that's cool.

Yay James for being alert and quick in contacting the police, for his self-control in staying out of sight and not scaring the guy off, and just for being all around awesome. Thanks to him, one of the creeps that have been breaking into our cars is behind bars!

And thanks to the MPD for getting there fast and catching the guy and being cool. I forgive you for that stupid ticket...
