I received an email today from Bluesfest, informing me that I had not been accepted for Backstage Hospitality. Well, balls. It was such an exciting prospect, imagining myself hobnobbing with musicians, who would boss me around and I would be thrilled because part of me has always wanted to be bossed around by musicians.
Oh well.
The worst part of it was that, by the time I was able to look at the other volunteer opportunities, there were basically none left. One cannot volunteer in more than one area of the festival (stupid, right?), so I had to find something that had six shifts or more, being how many one needs to get a free pass to all the festival's concerts.
I had the Lottery Tent recommended to me as a good place to volunteer, and there were actually enough shifts left, so I snatched them up.
Here's my itinerary! I get to serve alcohol?! That is, unless they reject me for this, too. Embittered! Embittered!!!
I guess I'll try again for the Backstage Hospitality thing next year. Maybe if I do a good job this time, they'll at least give me an interview next year. At which point, I'll so win them over with my charisma that they'll desperately want me to play assistant to some musicians. That'd be pretty coo'.
