the midnight disease
Since I just posted that November fic (hurray for insomniac princesses), I've got sleeplessness on the mind. I find myself regularly afflicted with what Michael Chabon calls "the midnight disease"... midnight, when I'm trying to get to sleep, is usually when I get most of my ideas for fic, and so I blearily switch my laptop back on and enter incoherent rough notes into my wordpad files.
Anyway, tangent. I'm just posting some rough notes up here for three holic fic ideas I've had, in hopes that posting them to the internetz will hold me to some accountability and force me to properly start, fully write out, and actually finish, well, any of them.
Song to the Siren. A sister piece to "Pearls", slightly more Yao-centric, with even more flashbacks to her past lives to fill in some of the spaces made by "Pearls" (which it eventually goes beyond). I entirely blame evil_whimsey for this, since she supported the insanity.
You Are Old, Father William, aka Five April Firsts in Himawari Kunogi's Life. Another Himawari-centric, far-reaching (most likely AU) future fic. Poignant as hell, if I can pull it off right.
And Your Hair Has Become Very White. A tentative Watanuki-side fic, to go along with "Father William", perhaps in the form of a 20 things list.
Unnamed Monstrosity. Adapted from an older idea. A story about Doumeki's parents when they were teenagers - Doumeki's parents, and one other. Meant to be an OT3 in counterpoint to HDW. I'm still trying to work out how I am going to delve into some canon issues so I can't say much about this, but fic like this is the reason why I am called a back story whore. Duly influenced by ekaterin24's "Education of Doumeki Haruka".
