The Ugly Duckling Sweater and What's on my Bobbins

My Ugly Duclking Sweater...
I have hope it will transform soon....

I recently cut the steeks of the sweater...at first I did it with a crochet steek..but that started unraveling...enough to make my little knitting heart almost expload....
I quickly whipped out my sewing machine and did a sewing steek. Much better! Much easier! Much faster! I don't know why I didn't do this from the beginning.

I did the button band on the left...but well...I'm going to have to rip it out...(I'm just waiting until after I do the right button band) I picked up a stitch for every row...instead of 2 stitches for every 3 rows. Yeah I'm dense. And it's sort of buckling outwards.. Gotta fix that.

Working on the sleeves....the left one is to the point where I need to start doing decreases. I'm working on getting the right one to that point also...I like to do as much "simple" knitting as I can, while I'm reading for school...so I leave the "hard stuff" (aka stuff I really don't think I should be doing while reading) for last...like decreases and button holes.

And in the world of spinning.....Here's what's on my bobbins.

Some merino I dyed. I'm not even really sure why I'm spinning this. Merino isn't my favorite...it's too pilly (is that even a word) for me. It's "interesting colors" really bright colors...like red, pinks, yellows, but then there's some really pale spots of like...peach... PEACH. jeez. Anyhow...I'm spinning it in really long color repeats, and then I'm going to Navajo ply it.

This I'm spinning up for a trade, on the lj knitswap community. She told me what color she wanted..I dyed it...now I'm working on spinning it up. It will end up being a 2 ply.

Red Raw Alpaca! Hubba hubba. I love this stuff...soooo soft. Eventually a sweater....I think. It's a little bitchy to spin up...I think I'm going to hold off on this until I get my new carders. I wish I had a drum carder. I wish my guild had a drum carder I could use.

And yes I only have 3 bobbins. This is what happens when you are the 3rd owner (maybe even more) of a wheel, that you can't find bobbins for anywhere...
