Today was my last day of work. It was sad, actually. I'm going to miss it. Part of me wishes the summer were longer, just for that. The people, the work itself, I loved it all. It was probably one of the most valuable experiences I've ever had. Now I know for sure, whatever's in store for me in the future, this is what I want to do. This is what I'm going to do.
I'm kind of sad that I can't go to TK's goodbye party on Friday. (He's my boss.) I'll be gone by then. You see, they cut the tech desk because it wasn't being profitable enough, and he was in charge of it so he's getting laid off. He was the life of the newsroom. It's not going to be the same there without him.
Friday, I shall leave D.C. and will be on my way to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Then it's back home Sunday. It was fun while it lasted. Quite honestly, although it definitely did have its majorly down moments, the internship made it all worth it. (Honestly, how many people have an opportunity like that?) UPI is definitely the part of the summer I'll miss the most.
