I've been having trouble sleeping for the last month or two. Lying awake for about 30 minutes before I give up and go on the computer until 2am. Being so tired the next morning that I can't wake up until 10. Not getting home from work until 11, which then messes up my sleep schedule even more. All this also affects my schoolwork - I'm tired during class, and the sleep schedule doesn't give much time to do my homework. So I do it, but I get pretty stressed about it, especially given the fact that we have a paper due next week. And what does stress do? Interfere with sleep. It's a vicious circle.

Anyway, I went to the doctor last week and asked her about it - she actually recommended I take tryptophan supplements, since they don't interact with my antidepressants. The pharmacist, however, said that Benadryl works just fine, so I'll stick with that for now (I couldn't find the supplements at Walgreens). It's working pretty damn well, too. Last two nights were the best sleep I've had in weeks. Thank God. Hopefully this'll help unblock some of my writers' block so I can work on my Shakespeare paper.

It's damn hard to write papers, sometimes. I've forgotten how hard. In AP Literature in High School, it was easy, cause we were just doing it on the fly. You didn't have to sound like a professor - just like you knew what you were talking about. So as long as I filled that requirement, I could just talk about what I knew, and I'd do wonderfully. But now that it's a whole paper that I have to plan out, it's driving me crazy. I've been working on it for two weeks and I haven't even finished the first draft! Christ...

It's just so damn hard to get started. I love the topic (Shakespeare + insanity), I'm passionate about it, and I can talk about it endlessly. So why is it so hard to write?!

Argh.

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good otherwise. I just need to buckle down and get past these damn roadblocks. I really want to get some good work done today.
