Sometimes I wonder if I can keep on with this, finding love (or what I think is love) and then losing it in the moment between breaths. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places, looking at the wrong people. Maybe I’m missing the obvious one, the one standing right in front of me, the one I never thought of. Or maybe that’s just what the stories ( Read more... )

Dude, I so hear you... I spent waaaaaaay too much time falling for people who had no interest, hurting over them, and feeling stupid for hurting over a relationship that never was. So I'll offer this affirmation: the hurt is real, the mourning is real, the person that it's for is not always going to understand it, but it is real ( ... )

Thanks so much, Kat! I do think of you often as well, you seem so happy and comfortable now. Big giant hugs right back to you! If I ever wind up in Montreal again, which I whole heartedly plan too I will let you know!

It is certainly true in my own life that love happens when you're not looking for it. I offer this in the unsolicited advice category:

Love sucks. It hurts us and it makes us crazy people. On the other hand, love is awesome... but it is definitely a double-edged sword. I understand the desire for companionship, but companionship doesn't always have to involve being "in love." The looser definition of love (the platonic kind) is all you need for that.

So, I guess... don't push it. It'll happen when you least expect it. In the meantime, enjoy the relative stability of your emotions and sanity... and love yourself.

Thanks so much Sharon! So excited to see you next week, on your surprise visit, before I once again leave for the the strange and fantastic world of ship life.

Ships aren't exactly a normal environment to start a relationship, it is true. At what other time do you meet someone at work who is unlikely to be from anywhere close to your home and yet live in the same place? You just need stay in one place for awhile and then you should find something more steady because you are awesome!

*hugs*

Thank-you Annemarie. You know exactly what to say sometimes. Really enjoyed dinner with you yesterday at Zacks and our walk around the market. See you next week! Good luck with the rest of your painting, re-arranging, and the start of your classes.

You're welcome ^_^ Thank you! I'm happy I get to see you again next week! Yay! I don't think I've seen you this much since high school, when we hung out every day we were both there.
