We're sick. Still. Zor and me. Nothing scary, just lingering. I have it in the sinus department, and she's got it in the tummy. Boo for evil microbes.

So last night Mr Moth came home from the auction and he brought me a printer. My printer (Brother) is in the basement hooked to Mr Moth's computer (Father) so he (Mr Moth) can use it to print shipping labels, and my laptop won't access it via the network because of some weird deal where Vista won't find printers if they're attached via XP. And let me say this is the only major issue I've had with Vista other than getting used to it.

Since I've had this laptop, any time I need to print something, I have to save it on a cd and carry it downstairs, hook it up to Mr Moth's computer--which is slower than Xmas--and print that way. I can't even use a thumb drive because Father sometimes for no apparent reason decides to eat my documents when I save them on the thumb drive. I'm not blaming this on Vista, because Father also ate thumb drive documents saved on Mother (who ran XP and who now lives with my bio brother.)

Nope, Father just hates being connected to via usb. I think maybe he's a tad homophobic...

Anyhow.

Mr Moth brought me a printer. I measured, and it is exactly the right size to fit between the end of my desk and the end of the open office door, but I don't have anything to set it on that is also the exact right size to fit in that space.

I either have to get really creative with regard to printer stands, or rearrange the office, neither of which I feel particularly up to at the moment. Although a nice rearrangement might cut down on the hamster chow in my orange juice.

(I either have to put my glass on his shelf or on my desk, and I forbid beverages on the same surface with my laptop. A keyboard is easily replaced, but not if the entire business part of the computer is directly underneath.)

I really like having Dmitri close though, so maybe I'll just keep living with the seeds. It did give me a turn though, when I felt that kernel of corn and thought I'd somehow lost a tooth in juice.

44 days til spring...
