For the first time in two weeks? Three? The temperature inside the house is actually what we set it at. I owe somewhat of an apology to the A/C, which I have called a diva. It brought new depth to the phrase running hot and cold. It turned out the poor thing's coils were clogged, caked even, with tree fluff--dogwood gunk etc. Being brand new to the world of central air, we did not know the coils need cleaned annually. And what a huge pain in the heinie.
While we were taking the air apart to clean it (and being devoured by mosquitoes the size of Fiestas) Mr Moth noticed Zor's window was open. ACK! And it was not her fault, either. I believe I am the one who opened it...and I shudder to think how long ago that was. March, maybe?
I'm thinking I should get some of those window clings that keep birds from flying into windows just so I can tell if ours are open or shut. It's weird that they look basically the same either way, unless they are half open, that is.
The Mothmobile is still in automotive ICU awaiting a transplant. It has to have a very special kind of engine, with an X in the vin number, because it is four-wheel drive. Argh.
Two weeks ago tomorrow I went to the eye doc to get my exam so I could get new lenses for my glasses and actually fully see for the first time in several years. A week ago they said, they're ready, come get! But when I got there the prescription was so wrong it made me feel like I was having some weird spontaneous drunken episode as soon as I put them on.
Lab mistake, they said. They'll fix it. We'll put a rush on it!
Ok, so the exact same amount of time later...still nothing. Some rush, fuckheads. And I can't help remembering that when I asked for a prescription so I could get a dirt cheap backup pair at the glasses-in-an-hour place and they told me what a mistake that would be, that the quality would be poor, etc.
They coulda screwed up eighty pair by now, if they screwed up one pair an hour, eight hours a day, five days a week, for two weeks. And if they'd got even a single pair right out of all of those...I would have glasses right now.
Maybe they think, well if you couldn't see for two years, what's another week?
A week for me to plot harnessing my pet dragon and flying over your lab, digging in spurs so that he spouts flames all over...
Ok, so this is PMS week. What was your first clue?
I didn't pay my LJ bill, and I lost my Endora icon...as an icon, at least. I was thinking, if I'm going to spend $20 a year...for five dollars more I could get Flickr and have a home for my eighty gazillion photos.
Of course I haven't done either one yet, because I'm still waffling whether I want to do that. There are lots of free photohosting sites now. I just don't like any of them as well as I like Flickr.
L'eggo my Eggo.
Speaking of Eggos, it's grocery shopping day. So I must fly.
Moth-Jeeves, pull my broom out of the garage, will you?
