Ni90 Day 4

Jun 04, 2007 14:04

It is gorgeous and 73°F out, delightfully warm but not a bit hot.  Which is good, because the hot compresses go on.  I swear this is a bottomless pit of ew I have going on here.

Today's word count:  755 again.  I wanted to stop real bad, but when I hit the tally button I only had 749 words instead of the requisite 750.  How aggravating is that?  So I added on this sentence:  They never made it that far.  Cryptic, huh.  That is what passes for a snippet with me.

I find myself wondering why it takes so many words to get my characters, well...down a hill, for instance.  It makes me wonder if I'll need to write 200k in order to have enough substance after I chop out all the wordy excess.

Oh, and wow, speaking of the target total...  I went through all the story-so-far and counted it up and came up with a close estimate for a grand total, which is 58,856.  That is like...more than half.  In honor of that, I am more than pleased.  I still have lots of longhand pages to type in (about 13k worth), and somehow those counts always change no matter how careful I try to be.  They're figured in, but they're probably figured in wrong.  I would sigh on that, but hey.  It's still more than half a (messy) book.

novel_in_90, yay, progress
