Another year has passed

It's crazy how time flies. As always, so much has happened.

Still drawing my butt off to get on in tattooing. I've been tattooing for a while now, and while it's still not perfect, every week I improve. The longer I'm tattooing, the more I realise how little I know. Funny that. I'm tattooing only people who know of my apprentice status of course. I'm truly lucky that so many people put their trust in me and my work.

If you want to see my tattoowork, feel free to add me on Facebook. There's a couple of pics on there. I'm a fairly regular Facebooker in general though. :)

Since March this year, Markus Lenhard from Lux Altera is working on a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm. It's so lovely!! It's all colourful lotus flowers, two lovely dragonflies and mechanic parts like gears, screws, tubes etc. Bit steampunky. Lots and lots of sessions to go. He tattoos between 5 and 6 hours per session. It goes from below my elbow way up and to the back of my shoulder blade.

My mum's currently in the hospital. Breast cancer aftermath... so it's in her liver now. Last week we heard the best possible scenario, that it comes from the breast cancer instead of a new source of cancer. They're talking about hormone treatment instead of chemo. Let's hope this ends well. But what a scare it was!! They mentioned "months" already, as in the remaining time of her life. Unreal! Mum is strong and upbeat... dad is doing a little better after last week's news.

On a positive note, I'm blissfully happy with my boyfriend Tijmen. He's met my parents a couple of times now, and my brother and his family... everyone is getting along great and my mum is truly happy with him. :) Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. I know it sounds sappy, but this really is the case. Yesterday he brought me to work on his day off, a 2 hour drive on Monday morning at 6.30am to Amsterdam. So sweet. He lives in Groningen, way up in the north of the country. And it's very likely I'll be following him there within the next 12 months. I'm a northern girl originally, so it won't be a hard time adjusting.
