Prettiness & Randomness

I just used this video to play with my eye makeup, using Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland book of shadows as a substitute for all the MAC eye shadows she uses.  I just picked shadows that were similar in color, but Urban Decay's shadows were primarily sparkly as opposed to MAC's more lustery/matte typed shadows.  All of the shadows she used were shadows I've heard of before, so I'm thinking about getting them maybe two paychecks from this one.

Anywho, I LOVE this eyeshadow look.  It would be more subtle on me if it were less sparkly, but I like sparkly anyway.  I need to figure out which brushes/products will help the sparkles not fall on my cheeks, though.  Oh, and I LOVE Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer potion.  If I had a camera on me, I'd do a close-up of the eye...but I'm not sure how to make the flash not wash out the results...maybe I can turn off the flash and just have a lamp pointed at me.  I don't know, maybe when my mom gets home with the camera I'll see how the makeup looks and take a picture then.

I went to Target today to get Sonia Kashuk's angled liner brush, and her velvety matte lip crayon (I got blossomy nude).  I looked on line at reviews of the lip crayon this morning, and saw that it was comparable to Bobbi Brown's lip crayons, and since Sonia's lip crayons are only $8 at Target, vs. Bobbi's $22 price tag, I figured what the heck, right?  I like the stuff.  It goes on smoothly, and feels nice and creamy, and doesn't have an icky taste or smell.  Bobbi's lip crayon doesn give a minty/cool feeling to your lips, but for 8 bucks, I can live without it.  I think I'm going to go back for the mulberry nude color, which is slightly darker then the one I got today (which I like).

Also, I figured since the lips stuff was rated so well, I opted for Sonia's gel liner ($9) as well, figuring if it went on well enough, and wore well, then there might be no need to spring for MAC's gel liner ($15).  My opinion?  Love the stuff.  I'm no good at putting on eye liner, no seriously.  I've never been good at it, not even when I was a teenager.  And teenagers can rock eyeliner like it's nobody's business.  But this gel liner by Sonia Kashuk goes on so smooth, it was almost impossible for me to screw it up.  I got it in ebony, and I sort of wanted it to be a little bit darker when I was putting it on, but now it looks great, and it's smudge-proof.  I also put MAC's eyeliner in Smolder on the water line, and it works great, but that specific eyeliner is known for how incredibly well it goes on.  Also, the Urban Decay's glide-on eye pencils also go on really well.

Now I feel like I should do something pretty with my hair, since it's sort of not pretty enough for the makeup.  ROFL

Oh yeah, and I want a Kindle.

And yesterday I finally mustered up the courage to cut off two skin tags that were under my left arm pit.  I know, gross, but the small one didn't bleed at all, and the larger one filled a band aid and then nothing else.  And it only hurt for a second.  I've had paper cuts hurt worse.  I was afraid to do it because I get skin infections really easily, but I figured if I didn't get an infection, then I saved myself having to pay a doctor to remove something that was purely cosmetic.  Yeah, the idea of it is gross, but I'm glad I did it.

Today I waxed the sides of my upper lip, where my "mustache" shows.  ROFL  It cracks me up to call it that, since it's really not that bad, but I notice it in daylight, every time I get in my car, and I don't have tweezers in the car.  I hate being 35.  I miss the days where I had absolutely no noticeable facial hair at all.  Oh well.  It could be worse.
