I was awakened at 5:30 am to the smell of onions, bacon and baked beans. Mom was making them for work today in the crock pot. I sure hope there are some leftovers! LOL
I delayed going to bed last night forever, too. I don't know why, I just didn't want to go to sleep, I think I nodded off around midnight. I thought about blogging last night, but I didn't want to type, I didn't want to watch t.v., I didn't want to play any Facebook games. So I read, in bed.
I'm currrently reading Greywalker, by Kat Richardson. It's about a private detective who has a near-death experience and pretty soon learns that she can walk among the living and the dead. It's based in Seattle, and I kind of like it so far. Which reminds me, I need to recommend it to Rene...it's not a proper smut novel, but it's at least something. I also need to get the name of that author she was talking about at Nina's party (very smut-worthy).
So the other day I received my work pants in the mail, woohoo! I bought them through JC Penny on line, and didn't have to pay for shipping. So now I have 4 work pants, thanks to the extra money on my last paycheck (which I wasn't expecting until May). Yesterday my perfume arrived in the mail, too! I should buy myself stuff every week, packages in the mail are exciting. Anywho, a while back I signed up for email notifications from Sephora, and they notified me that the perfume I was waiting for them to get back in stock was going to be discontinued, so I went to the
Comptoir Sud Pacifique website to order from them directly. I got Vanille Extreme (the one being discontinued) and Vanille Abricot. The Vanille Extreme one makes me smell like birthday cake, which I dometimes already do anyway (job hazard, lol) and the Vanille Abricot is also good (their best seller since 1992). I struggled between Vanille Coco, and Abricot...I'll probably go back some time and get the Coco anyway. I love the smell of Coconut.
I'm not big on perfume, if it's too strong, or musky or "perfumey" then it makes me sneeze and in worst cases I have to get a rescue in haler, so when I find something I like, I stick with it. I also love Lucky Number 6, it's lightly floral and sweet, and somewhat oriental spicy (and doesn't offend my respiratory system). The bottle is also beautiful.
Now I'm hungry, I hope mom didn't use up all of the bacon, I'm thinking I might bake some off right now.
Mom got some rhubarb from a coworker, so she made a peach-rhubarb pie and a strawberry-rhubarb pie, and I must say, I think I like the peach one better. And strawberry-rhubarb is my favorite crusted pie. The list goes: pecan, pumpkin, lemon meringue, strawberry-rhubarb, and from then on it's a toss-up.
Okay, I'm tired of typing...think I'll go make some coffee or something.
