Double Happiness: the communist bar.
Drank too much tonight.
Ended up at a Chinese Maoist socialist bar (full of propaganda posters) called Double Happiness (the main picture on their website is worth checking out! Haha). There will (hopefully) be a picture of me to come later after I steal it off my friend's phone.
I had a blast trying all the fusion cocktails whose names are (apparently) taken from infamous moments in communist history. The Paper Tiger cocktail was quite yummy though next time I wonder if I need to try the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. I also (shockingly!!) liked the Taiwanese beer that I shared with my friend; it was nice and light and quite tasty. And the bartenders there were super friendly and totally happy to chat for a bit to try and customize a drink for me if I wished (alas, I wanted to try some of the house specials because the names amused me).
All in all a rather nice night. One of my favorite bars behind Berlin Bar where I can either sit in opulent West Berlin or barb-wired East Berlin. The bar themes in Melbourne are great!! Now if I can only head off to the Croft Institute for my lovely mental institution/hospital/lab theme with test tube shots (if I could ever find it!). ^^;
And off to being a poor pauper once again....
