Meetings and things to come
I met the lovely Sara (alias Marisolita on OB) and we went out for dinner tonight due to similar schedules today (and, alas, today only). She is a lovely, lovely person. I enjoyed talking to her immensely. I got invited to a takarazuka show with her and some friends as well as going to USJ (Universal Studios Japan).
I definitely am there for the takarazuka show but I am waffling on USJ. Why, you ask? Because BLOODY FXXXKING HELL X JAPAN IS PLAYING TOKYO DOME THIS MARCH!!!!!! But.... but... Tokyo. Tokyo is expensive and I don't know if I can take the time off to go so I might have to take a shinkansen (bullet train) there and back which will be super expensive not to mention the hotel/motel/hostel room I get, food, and especially the ticket itself. Man, I wonder if I can make that happen? I want to so bad!! SO BAAAAD!!!! Well, we'll see if I can figure out some way to make it happen because damn I need to!!!
In other news I should start picking poets, one per month, as since I am deprived of my usual books more and more I am turning to poetry online. Last month was the month of Sara Teasdale. I definitely think this month will be Thomas Lovell Beddoes. Here's something of his called Rosily Dying:
I'll take that fainting rose
Out of his breast; perhaps some sigh of his
Lives in the gyre of its kiss-coloured leaves.
O pretty rose, hast thou thy flowery passions?
Then put thyself into a scented rage,
And breathe on me some poisonous revenge.
For it was I, thou languid, silken blush,
Who orphaned thy green family of thee,
In their closed infancy: therefore receive
My life, and spread it on thy shrunken petals,
And give to me thy pink, reclining death.
