I went out randomly shopping today in Shinsaibashi and found myself in the middle of something called fukubukuro - or awesomely discounted grab bags during New Years - at just about every store!!! The idea behind this is to get rid of last year's merch. to make way for new merch.
While I am a bit wary of Japanese grab bags - the sizes might not fit, the style might suck, etc. - I found the KERA shop today and purchased a fukubukuro from a gothic company I know I like - Deorart ~made in devil castle~ - in size medium for $50. In it I found an awesome zip-up hoodie with gothy skeletons on the back (which I'm wearing right now), a necklace with a butterfly that is great, a mini black vinyl purse, a gothy armband, and then the one thing that I don't care for which is a white shirt with some pattern or other on it - all of which would have cost retail $165 or so. Needless to say I am super pumped and I love everything but the white shirt!!! I wanna go back tomorrow to see if they have any more. I believe I passed the Miho Matsuda store which had some left so I either want to get one there (if there are any left) OR what I really want to do is find the h. Naoto store!!! God, what I wouldn't give for an h. Naoto fukubukuro!!!
Today was an awesome day!! I'm so pleased with myself. Haha. ^^;;;;;;
