Hmmm...a lot has been going on. School is not too bad. I have only 12 hours, so I need to do well. I'm taking Physiology, Psych Statistics, Geography (Africa and Asia), and History (Western Civ.). They're all classes I'll really need to attend and study for, which sucks, but I can do it.
Work has been going well. With the HUGE influx of people here in Baton Rouge, we've been super-crazy-busy. The only thing that sucks is the TRAFFIC. OMG. It's so horrible. New Orleans traffic + Baton Rouge traffic = total chaos. It took me an hour and a half to get home from school last night, and that was from 7-8:30. It looked like 5 o'clock traffic the whole way home. I guess I shouldn't complain since I haven't lost any friends or family members or any of my belongings...but I just miss not having to leave an hour earlier just to get across the street.
Then, our lease is up September 30. We were going to find a new apartment to stay in. NOTHING left. So, Jake and I are just going to get a one bedroom here for 6 months. I cannot stay in this 2 bedroom with Jake's brother ANY LONGER! I might go nuts or throw him down the stairs. So, his brother will move with his grandma or figure it out on his own.
There are 45 misplaced families in 12 apartments in our apartment complex! 3 families to an apartment! People just sleep on the floors. It's really sad, and I feel really selfish for wanting our own place when I see what these people are going through. We're actually helping by moving into a one bedroom so that more people can live here in our 2 bedroom.
To all of my friends who are moving away: I'm going to miss you! Good luck with everything! Espeically Stephanie, even though I hardly ever get to see you.
It's just so depressing. I don't like watching the news anymore. We live across from a guy who's in the National Guard. He came in today just to pay his rent and go right back out to N.O. He was about to cry just telling us what it's been like out there. He said the news doesn't even do justice.
I've done all I can to help out. I've donated all that I can. I wish there was more I could do. Lone Star donated all of the money they made Labor Day to the Red Cross.
Anyway...I hope everyone is well and getting back into the swing of things. Jacob is growing so fast. He laughs all the time now, and he's about to start eating cereal next week! I love him so much!
