Still no baby. Jacob is being as lazy as could be. I went to see a nurse practitioner today. She examined me, and I'm still not dilated. Then, she hooked me up to the machines to measure contractions and the baby's heart rate. They left me there for like 20 minutes. I almost fell asleep a few times, but Jake kept waking me up because I had to press a button every time the baby moved.
I can feel some of the contractions, but they're not bad yet. It just feels kind of crampy. I can just imagine what they'll feel like when they get strong, though. Ouch.
Everything looked fine except for one of the contractions, the baby's heart rate was went down a little. Then, I had to get an ultrasound. They measured the baby, and they think he's around 8lbs. 13ounces! She said he'll definitely be a big baby. His belly looked as big as his head, and his cheeks looked so chubby. I can't wait to see what he looks like.
So, it still looks like it'll be Friday morning that I'll be getting induced. I still have my fingers crossed that he'll come on his own before then. I doubt it since I'm not dilated, but I am having mild contractions. So, you never know.
Yesterday was pretty cool. Maranda Liner, Lauren Merrifield, and Katelyn Cheramie took a road trip up here to visit me. How sweet. We had a really good time. I hadn't hung out with any of them since high school. It was good to catch up on everything and do what girls do best, gossip.
We decided to go to Hooters for dinner. We all ordered wings in hope that it would put me into labor. They weren't that great though. I've had better. I still think Lone Star has the best. It was happy hour, so we got 10 wings for $4.00, so I can't complain. Our waitress was like the ugliest girl in there, and she was a ding bat. I think her name was Billie Jo. Poor girl.
We then made our way to the mall. I don't think any of them had been there before. The mall was so empty. We were the only people in each store we went in, so it was fun. I sat in every massage chair in Brookstone because they said "Do not use if pregnant". Obviously it's because they'd put you into labor, so I tried them. We then had a ball in Spencer's. Who doesn't have a ball in there? That place is hilarious. We walked around some more until someone had the brilliant idea to get cheesecake at Cheesecake Bistro. OMG. I was in heaven. Chocolate Fudge Brownie cheesecake is the most amazing thing I've ever eaten. I did not share, cleaned my plate, and almost exploded. It was great. We stayed there a while and talked about everything. We took a picture, but I don't feel like uploading and attaching it right now. Maybe later.
Oh yeah. We saw some little black dude at the mall that they said was on American Idol. He did a James Brown routine or something? I had never heard of him, but they promised it was him. None of us were brave enough to go up and ask him though because we suck.
Then, it was getting late and time for them to leave. I was sad. I hope they come back and visit more often. I miss those gals.
I am addicted to Jolly Ranchers. I can't stop eating them. Grape is my favorite, then watermelon, then blue raspberry, then apple, then cherry. All the other kinds suck. Yeah, who cares? Jake said he doesn't like me when I eat the watermelon ones. I'm guessing he doesn't like the smell because I don't act any differently when I eat them. I love Jake. He cracks me up.
I have gas.
Good night.
