snow days and valentines.

I've just been feeling icky lately and I think it's a combination of things.. probably because I haven't been working out all week and have totally fallen off the raw food wagon (but I'm getting back on tomorrow) and the snow and lack of sunshine might be contributing to it as well. I'll be aight though.
last night tim and I went to dinosaur bbq for dinner then I made the smart suggestion that we walk around the block before we went home... I was walking in KNEE HIGH snow! Tim was just trudging alone quickly in front of me and with every step I was screaming.. "ahh! I'm going to fall!" and he just kept saying "come on! you're fine!". lol. I"m just not used to the snow and especially not used to being out in it and walking around in it. I'm trying though.. I told him we should make snow angels so we did...
there was a big snow pile near the street close to our apartment and tim went first. He just fell right back into it and did it.. then it was my turn and I was scared to let myself fall backwards into the snow! I asked him "are you sure the snow will catch me? I won't fall through it and hit my head on the curb?"... he just kept saying "just fall back!" ... so I finally sorta squatted/fell down into the snow... not very graceful let me tell you. It was fun though except a bunch of snow got up into the sleeve of my arm and I swore I was going to get frostbite. Yeah, I'm a lot of fun. ;) What was cool though is we could look down from our window and see our snow angels next to each other.

for valentines day tim totally surprised me with this silly book called "the art of kissing" and a BEAUTIFUL ruby red sparkly heart broach.. I'm not one to wear broaches or pins, but I will wear this one because it's soooooo pretty. Then he got me the ENTIRE COLLECTION OF SIX FEET UNDER ON DVD!! Do you realize how rad of a gift this is???!!? We've decided we are going to watch one episode together every monday night .. Sara and Steve or Judy .. do you guys like six feet under? If you'd like maybe I'll talk to tim and see if he'd like to do a monday night get together of the show or something.. sorta like our old project runway parties.
I got tim chocolate for valentines day. haha. not too great I know.. we said we weren't going to do anything for each other though and then he went and got me all this great stuff and I was in a bind .. and since I don't have a car, it's not like I can just go out anytime I want and buy things.. plus I'm scared to drive in the snow anyway.. so I don't like driving alone. bah.
Honestly though, when I was single I remember thinking that if I was with someone I wouldn't want to feel like I have to do something on valentine's day just because of the stupid tradition... and I don't. I mean, it's great to be with someone and be in love, but I don't feel like I HAVE to do something on that day to prove my love. Hell, I'd rather not do it on that day just to prove a point or something. Yes, last year I did go all out and took tim to a chocolate presentation and got him some gifts, but maybe cause it was our first year together on valentine's day. I just feel like we should show our love and be sweet to each other all the time.. not on some stupid day.
