Kindle-less and bereft

Jun 14, 2011 15:47

OMFG, I dropped my Kindle and now it's frozen, won't turn off and the words in the bottom left hand corner are all blurred. I've emailed Amazon because it's still under the one year warranty but I know just what they'll say, that it's accidental damage and not their problem. However I think they should be a bit more robust and be able to withstand a drop or two surely? Anyhow I've tried and I'll just have to see what they say. If they won't replace it I'll just have to buy the cheaper version without the 3G. I never use the 3G anyway. I can't really afford to replace it but I use it everyday as part of my relaxation time as part of my pacing regime and I can't hold books up for very long because my muscles object. What a fucking nuisance! I dropped it because my phone rang and I couldn't get to the phone in time and fumbled it. It turns out it was only the bloody insurance people for my employers who provide the Doctor's appointment I've been waiting for. The appointment arrived in the post this morning and they probably just want to make sure I've received it. I haven't phoned them back because I'm still pissed about dropping the Kindle. The only good thing was, thank god I'd finished Xanthe's new fic Two Wolves before I dropped it otherwise I'd have been super super pissed instead of just pissed. UPDATE: got a response from Amazon about half an hour after I sent my email. It said they didn't think the damage was covered under the warranty  but asked me to ring them. So got in contact with them spoke to a very nice guy who asked me to explain what happened  then he said they would send me a new Kindle Woo Hoo! RESULT! You could have knocked me over with a feather. This entry was originally posted at http://atlantis-angel.dreamwidth.org/9141.html. Please comment there using OpenID.
