Christmas is a blur now. I was in agony thanks to my unwanted friend CFIDS. I dared to go shopping, dust and tidy up on the 23rd and obviously CFIDS thought I needed some payback in the form of 3 days of agony. I was taking handfuls of painkillers as often as possible but it didn't really make a dent in the pain.
Anyhow,in an effort not to ruin the Christmas vibe and everyone else's day I plastered on a smile and whistled a happy tune.
All in all it was a really good day. However I don't think I got away with The Pack not cottoning on to how much pain I was in. Instead of rocking out to Rock Band in the evening which is a Pack tradition they suggested we have a nice gentle game of Trivial Pursuit which I was very grateful for.
I'm very restless at the moment, I want to do more and my body won't let me. My one escape at the moment is Slash fiction, primarily McShep. I've read some really great Epic stories recently but I fear there's not much more around to read and so many SGA writers seem to be throwing in the towel, it's such a shame.
I guess I am really picky about what I read though. I tend to stick to NC17 and nothing under 20,000 words in fact I favour the 100,000+ fics of which there are few and far between.
If it's going to be Slash I want something really adult with a good plot that I can get my teeth into.
I've never really liked short fiction in any form anyway. Just when you start to get into the story it's all over and it's a bit of a anticlimax. Give me epic hardcore fiction any day!
