Sizzlin' Summer Hockey Showdown

Hey folks!
Today I attended the Sizzlin' Summer Hockey Showdown in Selkirk, MB. It was quite awesome! I met some very, very cool people which I will have pictures of at the bottom of the post. The final score was technically 9-6 for the Black team. However, after a surprise shoot out the White team won 11-10 I do believe.
Piiictures!

Players:
White Team: Steven Later, Nigel Dawes, Tyler Arnason, Andrew Murray, Travis Zajac, Dustin Boyd, Nathan Smith, Phil Cole, Cam Barker, Colton Orr, Eric Fehr and Rejean Beauchemin.
Black Team: Nolan Baumgartner, Ian White, J.P. Vigier, Mike Richards, Jeremy Williams, Adam Courchaine, Jordin Tootoo, Derek Meech, Jonathan Toews, Ryan Craig, Dustin Penner, and Rob McVicar.

Pictures:
[I apologize for the crappy quality of the photos, the lack of action shots (the ones I took were super blurry) and they're not taken from a very far distance because my digital camera suuuucks. heh.]

Nigel Dawes and some people that I can't quite make out.

Rejean Beauchemin.. he gave his stick to a little kid after the game, so cute. :)

Dustin Boyd & Cam Barker.

More lovely stretching!

Gettin' close..

Face off.

Dustin Penner the giant!

Mike Richards.

After the game, my two friends and I went on an adventure to find out if they were signing autographs. We went by one of the players benches and they let a bunch of us through where we had to stand with our backs against the wall as players walked by to sign autographs. I/we got Nigel Dawes, Rejean Beauchemin, Cam Barker, Nathan Smith, Mike Richards, Dustin Penner aaaand Dustin Boyd. (Jordin Tootoo was in some room that you had to have private access to).

Cam Barker signing autographs. When he signed the magazine cut-out that I brought he dropped my marker lid and then the marker wasn't working so he had to put it against the wall and he kept on apologizing and it was cuute.  I was like, "It's okay big boy!"

Oh jeez, did I mention? Like half of the players were all wearing purple shirts and pinstripe pants. Sooo hot. hehe. You can't really see the purpleness in this pic. Me and Krystal had been waiting for this moment for like eeeever. I was shaking a lot. He was super nice. I had a picture of him to sign that I took at a warriors game and he was like, "Ooh, where'd you get this from?" He doesn't look very happy in the picture, though.

We searched for Toews and we thought that all hope was lost until we were leaving through the front doors and who do we spy but Toews hugging his grandparents? OMG adorable! His grandma had this diamond pendant thing that said "SIOUX" on it. So we patiently waited for him to be done with his grandparents and then got his autograph and some pictures and there was nobody else around so it was awesome. He was super duper nice. The guy that took our pictures kept on taking them though so we just got to spend that much time with his arms on us. haha. Anyways...

Like the purple shirt?!

I'm so freaking giddy from this spectacular day!

PS: I will be going to Rockin' The Fields In Minnedosa for the long weekend, so catch ya on the flipside!
