Does have some kind of spy fetish? Is he just hypersexual?

See if it wasn't Tarantino? I'd be all over that, but just the thought of him? Yeah doesn't do much for me. I've even met the guy, and in person? Just as odd looking.

Fantastic assessment of him though!! Thanks a lot!

Ability to withstand torture

Err, that's at least questionable. Because the way the scenes between him and Sloane play out, it seems clear Sloane is dead on when he says "they broke you". That's when Cole freaks out. (Also about the fact that Sloane can withstand the needles of fire and he couldn't, granted, but he still loses it.) Regarding the abilit to inflict torture, clearly he can, but he isn't exactly a big success at that, either. I mean, if you have a middle aged man utterly at your mercy and you still end up as the one being played without getting anything of him in return...

Something I was always curious about re: Cole - considering the Covenant worked for Elena, did he work for Elena as well, and if so, was he the one who betrayed Irina to her?

I was trying to figure that out while writing it... I never really understood how he moved from organization to organization. Maybe he was romanticizing both the Derevkos and playing them at the same time.

Also, while he did break and perhaps mentally couldn't stand the torture. He could still physically withstand the torture, particularly the needles which could cause cardiac arrest.

McKenas Cole doesn't get enough love in the Alias fandom...he is such a fantastic character, and you did him justice here. It was great catching up with him, so to speak ;-)

this just made my day so much brighter. McKenas Cole to me is one of the funniest characters to ever hit Alias. And i will never get over the Box episodes! oh. thank you for once again reminding me why i love this character.

"Who this man is, is not important. What is important is this knife on the table. Use it. Kill this unimportant man."
