Eric Weiss - Shipper Discussions
I'm a couple of hours early. This is actually supposed to go up tomorrow, but I have no idea how late I will get home tomorrow night so I am going for early! ;-)
As far as Spoilers, I’m carrying this through the end of Season 4…….
I love the character of Eric Weiss. He is your boy next door guy who everyone loves. He’s also the resident SmartAss who keeps Vaughn from going insane. Somehow he never gets the girl………..until Nadia………..
This is the place to discuss his relationships or lack of………..
Eric/Nadia
I called him “Eric” instead of Weiss in this one because he’s Eric to Nadia and these two are by far my favorite ship for Weiss. We went through 3 seasons with Weiss hindering Vaughn and helping Vaughn with his love life and complaining because his was non existent. Then he meets Nadia. Nadia was a breath of fresh air for me, but she was really a breath of fresh air for Eric. He is so smitten with her that it is utterly precious. He thinks she is hot, he loves to watch her work, and he makes her laugh. She’s never had the deep love and nurturing she needed and Eric has that personality to dote on someone almost to the point of smothering them. I just think that he and Nadia complement each other so beautifully. I like the way she says to Sydney, “I like him. He makes me laugh.” Such a simple statement yet it so profoundly speaks volumes. She feels safe and comfortable with Eric and isn’t that such an important part of it? I loved them together every second, every moment. I love the way he made Nadia feel and I love that she adored him and realized what a catch he was. I also love the fact that when everyone else calls him Weiss, Nadia always refers to him as Eric.
Weiss/ Sydney
Ok guys, come on……….I cannot be the only one that had a little Weiss/Syd fever at the beginning of Season 3??????? He was so good with Syd and she leaned on him so much. I loved it when he was willing to tell her that she wouldn’t like his answer but she needed to go and talk to Sloane. He was willing to be honest with her because he cared about her finding the truth. They even ended up being neighbors and hanging out! There was a lot of rebound potential there! And one of my favorite all time moments in Alias history was when Weiss left the “Alice in Wonderland” book on Syd’s desk. Her tears and that hug………….. At that moment, I wanted some love and action between her and Weiss.
Although it wasn’t to be and all of us who even toyed with it were back to wanting Syd with either Vaughn (yep, that’s me) or Sark (I could handle that too), I think the Weiss and Syd relationship is very special and the friendship they share is priceless. I think the comfort he gave her during Season Three was a pivotal point in a very good friendship.
Weiss/ Francie (the real one)
I realize that these two never met (that I am aware of) but I think they would have made a great couple. They were both kind of unsure of themselves and it would have been so nice if things had been different and Francie and Weiss could have double dated with Syd and Vaughn. I just think there would have been some good chemistry between Francie and Weiss.
Weiss/Irina
I don’t see any kind of shipper relationship here. Maybe Irina could try to use him for sex if she needed to, but I don’t see Weiss falling for that.
I see their relationship in a healthy respect. I think Weiss knows she is a brilliant and yet cunning woman. I think he is a good judge of character and I think he can see that she really loves Syd. I think he knows she killed his best friend’s father. I think knowing all of these things, he is a wise man……….he just steers clear.
Weiss/Lauren
Nope. Can’t even go there. Even though Weiss told Syd that Lauren was nice, he wasted no time in suspecting her and questioning her motives. I think he was on to her early on. I just cannot see the two of them ever together. I just think he tolerated her.
Weiss/Vaughn
I’m not very good at slash, but I’d bet the slash fans have a hay day with these two. They act like an old married couple sometimes! I’m not good at the slash, but I’d be very interested in someone commenting with your thoughts on them together!
My thoughts on them together are simple. Best friends. The friends that would die for each other. He covered Vaughn’s ass more than once. They watched each other’s animals and talked about girls and relationships and went running together (or tried too!). They just have that friendship that everyone wants. A true blue best friend.
Weiss/Jack
I think Jack sees Vaughn and Weiss as “the boys”. Jack isn’t much on emotion, but he always seems to look out for them like sons. I think Weiss looks up to Jack and respects him. I think that no matter what, they’d be there for each other. They don’t have much interaction, but the respect level is there. I very much see a Father/Son relationship with both Weiss and Vaughn with Jack.
Weiss/Sloane
Weiss never cared much for Sloane and didn’t hide that much with the people around him. He was in on taking him and SD-6 down. How ironic that he ended up being a potential son-in-law to Sloane. I think that he went above and beyond to try to respect him as Nadia’s father and I think that says a lot for Eric Weiss. The relationship never changed much but I think the scenes where Nadia was in the hospital and Sloane and Eric were both there, they respected that the other was a part of her life. I think they just accepted each other and Weiss was willing to take Sloane warts and all because he loves his daughter.
Weiss/Marshall
These 2 were simply co workers most of the time. I think some of the good times in their relationship where they moved into friendship and beyond co-workers were 1.) when Carrie was having the baby and wanted to be married first. Weiss all of a sudden was an ordained Justice of the Peace and married Marshall and Carrie. OMG………that was hilarious! And then 2. ) when Weiss and Marshall were trying to talk to the Russian diplomat on a conference call, and Weiss was trying to read the Russian. Those things were just absolutely hilarious and I think they made the friendship between Marshall and Weiss downright light hearted and fun.
Weiss/Dixon
I don’t see a lot here. They work together and interact OK, but not a lot of anything together to go by. I’d venture to say they respect and admire each other, but I don’t know what else.
Weiss/Sark
I saved this one for last, because if I were doing slash, these are the 2 I’d put together. I think on the show, Weiss hates Sark because he is evil and was having an affair with Lauren and so many other reasons. I don’t think Sark hates anyone except maybe his father, I just think he is so stuck on himself and his needs that he doesn’t pay attention to anyone. I do think however that with these 2 guys being the resident “Smart asses” that if you could get the 2 of them together and get beyond extortion, murder, betrayal, and Lauren, they’d be all competitive and try to outwit each other and I think it would make one heck of a fun relationship. Whether that be a friendship, or for the slashers, one of dynamic chemistry. I just see that it would work and be a really exciting relationship.
All that to say……….these are just my opinions. I’m all about Weiss and Nadia. Not much else. The rest of this was quite a challenge! I’d like to hear your opinions.
