Elliot and Eric attempt to help Serena with her love life, go shopping with her, and then attend the masquerade ball as Bacchus and Sergius. Serena doesn’t get into the masquerade ball and then weird things happen and she doesn’t come home at the end of the night.

Serena ends up at the hospital for an overdose, and Eric thinks she should make the decision to go to the Ostroff centre herself, but Lily makes the decision for her.

Serena leaves for break to track down the judge that put Ben in jail, Eric plans to go away with Elliot.
Elliot breaks up with Eric at some point over the break. He starts talking to Damien and telling him everything about the his family’s situation.

Eric finds out that the judge Serena went to talk to has been in New York, meeting with his mother, which puts an even bigger dent in their relationship.

Jonathan comes back into his life, but Eric’s more concerned with Damien. Serena assumes he and Damien are dating, and he lets her believe that rather than the truth, which is that he’s been buying sleeping aids from Damien since the break. He tells Rufus the truth and promises to stop taking the drugs, but the next day Damien calls him just to hang out as friends.

Eric's 18th birthday. Serena, Ben and Blair promise to take care of a coke deal that Damien blackmailed Eric into, but they mess up and Damien comes to his party to collect $100,000. Lily finds out and pays for it, but later Ben comes back with the cheque, telling them that Damien won't be bothering them anymore.
