Amazon is stripping "adult" books of their rankings, courtesy of Jezebel.
As several have pointed out, there doesn't seem to be too much rhyme or reason to it. Ron Jeremy's biography still has its sales ranking, but Heather has two Mommies does not.
Amazon says it's a glitch that suddenly all these gay and lesbian (and, to some extent, feminist) books are being excluded and that they're working on fixing it. But authors have been getting emails from Amazon as far back as February saying it's Amazon's policy to not rant books with "adult" content.
Meanwhile, Amazon continues to sell, and offer sales rankings for things such as the rabbit vibe and anal beads. And I'm HAPPY Amazon sells this stuff and gives them sales ranking. Everyone should own at least one sex toy, really. But what's up with the random deranking?
