Hello all. As I type ths entry, I am devestated, and in great shock. At 5:00 CST, I learned (from my local news) that Michael Joseph Jackson, my absolute favorite entertainer, had passed from this world. I am so very sad, and I spent a good long time crying about it. I am in my very early 20s, but I have been an MJ fan since 1992, when I first saw the videos for "Remember The Time" and "Black or White." I eagerly watched his Diane Sawyer intervew with Lisa Marie when it originally aired, and I learned all the words to "You Are Not Alone" when it came out in 1995. I watched every last moment of his 30th Anniversary Special.I sat glued to my TV watching "Living With Michael Jackson" and the subesquent specials, maintained his innocence through his molestation trial, and cheered loudly when the verdict of not guilty was revealed in 2005. As with many tragic deaths, I doubt that I will forget where I was or what I was doing when I discovered the news. Throughout the years, I have taken flack from a great many people for my unwavering support of MJJ. But, I stood steadfast. His music means so very much to me, and I will probably still be a fan when I pass from this earth. The world has truly lost one of its most talented and kind-hearted citizens, and music and life will never be the same.
And so, I end this entry with a quote from "Will You Be There?" which is one of my absolute favorite songs from my favorite MJ album, Dangerous:
In Our Darkest Hour
In My Deepest Despair
Will You Still Care?
Will You Be There?
In My Trials
And My Tribulations
Through Our Doubts
And Frustrations
In My Violence
In My Turbulence
Through My Fear
And My Confessions
In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I'll Never Let You Part
For You're Always In My Heart
You're always in my heart, Michael Joseph Jackson, and you always will be!
RIP (August 29th, 1958 to June 25th, 2009)
Until we meet again,
