YEAH....

So... a post about costumes, for a change..... I haven't really done much costume work lately; I don't really know why. Haven't had the inspiration, I guess. But yesterday I dug out the Hannibal bodice and did some minor stuff. I've adjusted the panels so that it fits nicely over the bust. Need to do the same over the hips, but it's not that urgent. The stuff over the bust was more glaring. Now it fits like a glove, which makes me very happy. So... stuff done:
*Adjusted seams over the bust
*Added a golden trim to the upper edges
*Cut off all loose threads on the inside

What needs to be done, is this:
*Buy, prepare and attach ropes for the skirt (looks better than my leopard patterned one... )
*Line belt with black fabric
*Attach snap buttons to belt and bodice
*Add a closing patent in the back
*Possibly adjust the seams over right hip, for a better fit.

Parallelle with this I have been working on a false bodice for the Elissa skirt (which will be added over the Hannibal bodice). So far I've only cut and stitched together the panels, but I tried the whole outfit yesterday, and it looks right so far.

Today I'll try to finish the skirt of my Venetian project. I put it on hold to after I had been in Venice in July, in hope that I might find helpful or inspirative items there. Didn't find too much, though. The sleeves are pretty much finished, and ditto for the bodice (except that I haven't come up with a genius plan for the lacing....). The skirt needs one more panel before I can pleat and attach it to the skirt. What is recommendable for the skirt - should I pleat or gather it? I haven't been able to decide.
