I got so many nice presents for Christmas! Aaaaw.
We're not a big family, so we all give stuff to each family member, and we all get a lot in return. I got some stuff I had wished for, and some I didn't know I wanted (but which I love):
*Alien (perfume, my absolute favourite)
*Lipstick Jungle DVD (looking forward to this one)
*Body Shop body butter X 2 (that one saves my skin)
*More RAM for my laptop
*New towels, white and identical (yummy!)
*Chocolate (people seem to know me...)
*Chewing gum
*A lovely portrait of the family cat (from the cat)
*Various note books
*Socks and "indoor" clothes
And also two books which made me squeeee:
*Art and Love in Renaissance Italy (Andrea Bayer ++)
*Merchants, Princes and Painters (Lisa Monna)
The latter is a piece of art. It shows how surviving Renaissance fabrics match up with those in Renaissance paintings, and some of the examples are so spot-on. What a research! It also talks about the various motifs in fabrics, what they original meant and/or what origin they have, as well as discussing colours etc. I've learned so much from it already, and I'll try to post some fabric/painting examples later on.
Oh, and it's still white and wonderful outside. Truly a winter wonderland!
