ITALY!
Today I realized: I'm leaving for Italy on Monday!
I've foloowed a course about the Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, and we're to spend 6 days in the Veneto area, studying his villas and palazzi. Darn, I'm looking forward to a trip abroad! Excuse my exclamation points....
I'm not totally sure of the program, but Tuesday and Friday are to be spent on studying villas in-situ. I'm sure there are other events planned as well. But I REALLY hope to be able to spend some hours (or maybe a day) in Venice, both because I fell in love with the city when I travelled Europe alone in 2006, and because I'm writing an exam essay on two churches situated in the Giudecca canal in Venice. And of course because the city rocks in general...
As last time: any piece on advice on places I OUGHT to see in Venice? I'll not be able to visit Burano and Murano, alas, but if there's any museums, shops or restaurants in the city you feel like recommending, I'm wide open...
