Classes this quarter...

Seem to be going quite well, for the most part. I am completely terrified of composition with Cope, not because he isn't great to have as a professor, but rather because I know I can't compose worth a damn. I've accepted that fact. Theory isn't my strongest point, and I'll be the first person to tell you that. Although, I suppose with composition...freedom to do outlandish things might actually be okay, and a mistake might not actually be a mistake. And...moving on...

Music history isn't all that bad either...although, as much as I love listening to brilliant DVD's of lectures given by Leonard Bernstein, the man isn't exactly my professor. I'd like to hear my professor lecture for once. It's been such a long time since I've had a music history professor that challenged me and kept me on my toes and where it wasn't a total cakewalk for me to get through the work. Frankly, the only one that ever did was Leta, and she always is constantly challenging me. That's what I totally love about her.

And finally, there's political econ with Dean. It's fucking amazing. In just two classes, I've learned that our perception of what "the economy" is really didn't come about till the 1930's...and today, I learned that Locke actually believed that people didn't change from one day to the next. One thing's for sure...John Locke is a total fucking nutcase, lol.

So much to do before my recital...I have my dress though...and my rep is coming together. I think once I get a couple of coachings with Inara, I will be more than set. I just have to feel totally comfortable with the piano part and then everything will be completely in place. I also need to work on fliers...and send out the info to my mom to mail people with invitations. *sigh* Ack...I think my brain is going to spontaneously combust...AND I've got to copy all of my music by tomorrow. Oy vey...

This is why my social life this quarter will be, oh, shall we say...REALLY, REALLY limited. Never mind that I have TONS of reading to do for my political econ class...oh, my head hurts just thinking about it.
