Sooo... watching has been mostly Schitt's Creek over and over with n3m3sis43. We started rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender because listen, that show is fantastic.
Currently listening to P!ATD "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" because I listen to whatever my Pandora station plays me. Just before that was Popular from Wicked.
Reading: Fancomics for Invader Zim. Fanfics for Captive Prince. What are real books? I don't know them. xD

All I am reading during the pandemic are Star Trek books and romance. I keep opening "real" books and I'm like nope, these are real. Leave me alone. And they are. What better way to spend a Saturday than with the crew of the USS Titan? :)
Our pandemic watching has been a Brooklyn 99 rewatch, a DS9 rewatch, and we just blew through She-Ra this weekend and cried while doing it. Avatar is like next on our list!
We've also been taking advantage of all of the airing of different musicals and plays from places like the National Theater.

Ahaha yep. Fandom is much cozier for me right now. I can just read about the same characters in various stories over and over again. Very soothing, right about now.
B99 is definitely always worth rewatching (might be back on the list...). I've been meaning to get into She-Ra but haven't yet! Starting new things feels hard, right now, though. :)
I've definitely been wanting to look into more things like that, especially since my kiddo is on the cusp of becoming a theater nerd (he LOVES the music from so many musicals...).

I flail for baby theater nerds! Hamilton is going to be on Disney+ in July and I am STILL screaming.
I totally understand about getting into new things right now. I honestly don't know if we've technically started anything "new" since lockdown began. Which is why it's going to be weird to start Avatar if we do. And with romance novels and stuff, there is a formula to follow. I get it, it works ... even if the characters are "new" you know. I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons I was willing and able to finally dive into actually writing a Trek novel instead of just fic. I know these characters. I don't have to worldbuild for them.

He loooooves Hamilton. I'm so excited for when it comes to Disney + because I just KNOW he's going to love the actual play. Seeing it performed live was an experience I'll never forget. :)
I highly recommend ATLA! It's... practically a perfect show. The worldbuilding and the characters are all fantastic. <3
And yeah, I totally feel that with the romance novels -- they def have a familiar formula so they'd be easier for me, too.
The Trek novel sounds like a lot of fun. :) Knowing the characters and not having to worldbuild, even better!

Reading: Literally almost nothing but COVID news/science, ugh (sorry). At first it was panic-inducing but now I've scaled back how much time I spend with it and what times of day I can focus on it, and it's helping me get through. But I miss pleasure-reading and want to make time for it.
Watching: (This is everything I've watched during the pandemic that I can think of) - DEVS - Little Fires Everywhere - Avatar: The Last Airbender (twice! once to introduce my son to it and now with theun4givables) - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (introducing the kiddo to it, leading to some interesting conversations) - Tales From the Loop - Schitt's Creek (theun4givables and I have watched it in its entirety thrice) - Steven Universe and Gravity Falls with the kiddo, plus lotsss of Disney movies
Listening: Whatever Spotify picks for me on my weekly lists, most of the time. Lots of Bastille and Hozier also.
Soul Soothing: Idkkkk, I'm too busy/tired to panic most of the time? Work is super busy. My kid is a good distraction.

Just finished reading Doctor Sleep after finally finishing The Shining. I have On Writing that I need to start reading before my Bookshop order comes in. I'm trying to shove a bunch of Stephen King and King adjacent books into my summer (I got a Joe Hill book because there were references to it in Doctor Sleep, so there's the hint that father and son share a universe, and I love that so much).
I've been trying to watch new things, but mostly competition shows. First in Fashion on Netflix was a fun one, and there's one called The Final Table where chefs from around the world have to cook a particular dish from a specific country and they get judged by people from that country. But I also watched Alias Grace, which made me buy the book. And I've started re-watching Merlin, because Netflix had it pop up. Oh, and I just rented Capone, because Tom Hardy plays the Capone who's succumbed to neurosyphilis and he is brilliant at playing violent mentally deranged people.

Right? They wrote it before the world exploded, and then the world exploded and they realized hey, this kinda fits... so I bought the t-shirt and the download of the song they advertised with the logo/lyrics that had all the proceeds go to Direct Relief, and I'm so so glad they released it for mass consumption, because people need to hear it. Every time I hear it I cry. But I'm okay with that.

<3 you def need to make time for pleasure reading again, I think your brain needs those breaks.

I do need to, my Kindle backlog is immense and my friend Kelly said I need to reread World War Z because it's a good pandemic book.

Steven Universe is so great. I'd also suggest She-Ra if you haven't seen it yet. :)
